Overview
This activity is designed to provide new knowledge, strategies to incorporate new skills and/or techniques, change in diagnostic approach, increase more appropriate transplant referrals, and change in overall patient care and management based on the latest evidence-based practices for the management of patients with liver disease.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Accurately identify appropriate clinical evaluation methods for patients with liver disease.
  2. Determine appropriate timing for specialty referral for liver transplantation.
  3. Apply current evidence-based management recommendations for patients with abnormal liver enzymes, liver lesions and metabolic liver disease.
  4. Apply clinical decision-making tools to achieve treatment goals for advanced liver disease.

Registration

There is no fee for the symposium, however, registration is required. 


Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Piedmont Healthcare is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

In addition to AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM for physicians, ANCC credit for nurses, and ACPE credit for pharmacists, Piedmont Healthcare also offers AAPA Category 1 Credit for PAs, APA credit for psychologists, ASWB ACE credit for social work, BOC credit for athletic trainers, CPEU CDR credit for dietitians, and IPCE credit.
