Piedmont Healthcare Mission Statement

Our purpose is to promote lifelong learning through educational opportunities that support the values of the Piedmont Healthcare to improve patient care and outcomes through:

• Developing single profession and interprofessional educational activities focused on quality and patient safety that will maintain and increase the skills, strategies, and performance of the members of the healthcare team within their scope of practice.
• Engaging in planning processes for educational activities that fosters teamwork, connections, and professional excellence.
• Supporting staff in fulfilling state licensing and other requirements for continuing professional education and enhancing professional practice.
• Embracing the future through the use of technology to share content throughout the system.

We seek to serve our target audiences which include advanced practice nurses, athletic trainers, dietitians, nurses, PAs, pharmacists, physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other members of the healthcare team by providing continuing education activities including live events (conferences, courses, regularly scheduled series), enduring materials, and other learning opportunities with content that addresses the identified needs of the healthcare team.

Expected results include improvements in the skills, strategies, and performance of our target audience, improved communication between team members as well as improved patient outcomes. Through regular assessment of individual activities and ongoing evaluation of our overall program, we will determine our effectiveness in creating changes in the skills, strategy and performance of the healthcare team in improving patient outcomes as well as identifying areas for program improvement. These assessments include analysis of both qualitative and quantitative data which will help to drive program improvement and the quality of our educational activities.

Piedmont Healthcare has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for stries EME Criteria.

Piedmont Healthcare is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc, to provide continuing education to Athletic Trainers. (BOC AP#:102211).

Piedmont Healthcare is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Board (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program.

Piedmont Healthcare is authorized by the American Psychological Association to provide continuing education for psychologists.

Piedmont Healthcare is a Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Accredited Provider with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

Piedmont Healthcare Disclosure Policy

Piedmont Healthcare requires that everyone who is in a position to control the content of an educational activity to complete a disclosure form upon the initiation of planning a CE activity. This includes planners, CE staff, faculty, presenters, authors, reviewers, and teachers. This disclosure statement must include all financial relationships with any ineligible company within the past 24 months. Any individual who refuses to disclose financial relationships will be disqualified from being a planning committee member, a teacher or an author of a CE activity and cannot have control of or responsibility for the development, management, presentation or evaluation of a CE activity. In the case of a presenter/faculty refusing to disclose after the activity has been promoted, credit will be revoked for the presentation.
